Annie is a great marking dog.
Her athleticsm shines with her speed and agility. Many have inquired why I didn't do agility -- I state I like hunt tests to
show a true retriever. She looks like poetry in motion with her very white feathering reminding us of watching a white tail
deer. She is a joy to watch run. She has a strong nose and understands how to use it effectively.
Annie's temperament and personality are similiar to Duke although she can be a bit more serious at times. She is sensitive to
the needs of those around and desires to give comfort as needed with a 'hug' with her head on a shoulder, knee or chest.
My journey with Annie has been quite different and a great learning experience to share. I chose not to work with any 'force'
program and worked diligently to help her overcome any confidence (lack of trust in herself and me as a handler) in her water retrieves.
She is a strong and great swimmer it was our lack of experience in effective water training which created some barriers to overcome.
Annie is a great mom. She is very devoted to her puppies. She likes cleanliness; not only with the pups but everywhere.
She doesn't like anything out of place -- a pen, paper, baby toy, etc.
Annie's coat is more of
a 'field coat' to which shedding is minimal. (1/2 brush of hair compared to Duke with 1 brush load and Brandi with 4 brush
loads each time we brush) While a 'field coat', her coat is still soft, supple and shiny with withers representative
of a Golden Retriever.
Annie earned her CCA -- outscoring her brother Duke-- just
2 months after giving birth to a litter of puppies. The judges were amazed at how healthy she looked. She is "classic" Golden
Retriever with her facial features, body shape, coat, temperament and overall size.
